What We Do

During the summer school vacation Gabriel’s Children is working in cooperation with the Rutland Public Schools and BROC Community Action in Rutland to distribute free school lunches to children in Rutland city.

Gabriel’s Children’s winter program provides freshly made soup to the homeless who are staying temporarily at local motels during the weather emergency.  We thank Trinity Episcopal Church in Rutland for the use of their kitchen for this program and to BROC Community Action for helping us with supplies for our soup.   This program begins in December and ends in April.

For the coming 2019-20 school year, Gabriel’s Children has entered into conversations with the Rutland Public Schools in the hope of providing meals that students can take home for evenings and/or weekends.

Gabriel’s Children also promotes fun activities such as the Angel Walk on the feast of the Archangel Gabriel on Sunday, September 29 in Rutland and the Christmas Angel Art Competition which will lead to an art exhibition in December, 2019.
